João Basto, Sustainability Director at Sovena Group, shared the company’s sustainability objectives to be achieved by 2023, as well as the measures in place to ensure that all agricultural by-products are fully reused.
From the olive groves to the mills, and through packaging and distribution, Sovena oversees every stage of the olive oil value chain. As a result, sustainability is a core priority for the Group, which has already reached a zero-waste agricultural production model.
In an interview with ECO/Capital Verde, João Basto highlighted key targets within Sovena’s sustainability strategy and explained how agricultural intensification can support more environmentally responsible practices.
